The cabinet is a curved ‘S shape’ with a 90 degree angled top and bottom, it is different to anything else we have ever seen and it shows the products off beautifully. The floor behind is raised so that the staff can present the customer with their purchases with ease and professionalism.  It is fully colour coordinated and spot-lit to enhance the appearance of the product.  We also have a back bar with under counter refrigeration and storage areas.  All the refrigeration compressors and motors have been installed remotely this allows us to keep the noise at a minimum and the heat level low so that can enjoy your ice parlour experience.  By doing this we not spoilt the bespoke design which has not been seen anywhere else outside of Italy. 

We like a challenge and this was certainly the case last December when work started. Severe winter conditions, a major re-fit whilst keeping the fish and chip restaurant open seven days a week and my beautiful wife about to give birth, Christmas and New Year to boot. It was a nightmare! But it all worked out in the end. There were a couple of set-backs because of the weather but we are over the moon with the result; a fabulous Ice Cream bar and a beautiful baby son!  To signal the launch of the new-look ice cream parlour the name was changed from Caffe Sirena to Ciccarelli’s as it’s our mother’s maiden name and we feel it has a nice ring to it.

The feedback from the customers was immediate and fantastic, there was certainly a wow factor and everyone loved the fact that they didn’t have to drive in to town to experience this kind of quality. And likewise we have people travelling from miles around to come to Ciccarelli’s because we have the beach location and the quality of the products we offer. On that note, at the same time we started to source suppliers who could offer artisan patisserie products as we now had 6 metres of patisserie space to fill.  As for the ice cream, we’ve extended our range of flavours in the display cabinet at any one time from 16 to 40, and we present them to the customer as visually appealing as we possibly can. Cicarelli’s still offer the classic flavours such as vanilla, rum and raisin, mint choc chip, Strawberry etc but we’ve also introduced new flavours such as Rhubarb & Custard, lemon Meringue pie, cherry coke and Mojito.

Taking full advantage of our coastal location, the front of the restaurant now has full-length windows which allow for stunning views across the horizon. Ciccarelli’s in South Beach Blyth, Northumberland offers the customer an eclectic range of quality freshly made ice cream and also the perfect seaside location in which to enjoy it!

We serve a range of products from 8am to 8pm including hot breakfasts, Lavazza coffees (Italy’s favourite!), artisan pastries and cakes, and of course our home made, award winning Ciccarelli’s Ice Cream! Cicarelli’s is proving to be a great success, customer feedback is that they love what we offer, high quality product, different to what you get elsewhere. We look forward to welcoming you!
